Verrete is alive!
Hello Everyone!
I would like to announce, with great happiness in my heart, that the first working version of Verrete v0.1 Rude Awakening is Alive.
It will become something great, useful, and interesting, and I will tell you what it is to be, and what it currently is.
So it all started with an idea. Idea, that would soothe my wordy-itch for knowing where words appear throughout the internet. Which are coupled with which ones, and in which places they do appear. That idea became a concept, and that concept became a reality just now. It is a messy reality, but a live one, and I’m proud to announce that Verrete - from the Latin verbum (“word”) and rete (“net”) - is alive and well.
Right now, we have an API service, which is the main goal here, with not many endpoints so far. The database itself is pretty big for the first version, and even though there’s a process to clean the data, the data is not clean enough for my taste. There is exactly the kind of information that does scratch the above-mentioned itch, what words couple the most with another, and on which domains. With its pretty funny quirks, like Star Wars being a bit more dominant than I would expect.
It is far from perfect now, and that’s okay. Verrete is alive now, and I can iterate now, and make it better, more performant, with cleaner data and more structure. All the while being up to date with today's standards. So…
Keep yourself posted! Updates incoming!
